Cold Brew Coffee

Cold brewed coffee infuses the flavor of coffee from the bean into the water, resulting in a smooth, low bitter, almost sweet taste. This makes cold brew coffee great to mix with your favorite chocolate drink, blend it with ice cream, make a smoothie, mix it with sparkling water (we use Soda Stream), add it to your cooking batter instead of water, or mix it with your favorite alcohol spirits.

Let your imagination brew…

Cold brew coffee is commonly made very strong and may need to be diluted to taste at serving time. It can be served hot or cold. It’s perfect for iced coffee. To avoid over diluting your coffee, make coffee ice cubes to chill your iced coffee.

Cold Brew Instructions:

  • To make cold brew coffee concentrate, fill the filter tube about 3/4 full with coarse ground coffee, to allow for swelling. Pour in cold (filtered) water to fill jar and allow it sit on your counter or in your fridge for 12-24 hours, depending on the intensity you want to create. (Coffee to water ratio: 1:4. IE: 1/4 cup coffee to 1 cup water or 4 cups water to 1 cup grounds). The longer you brew it, the more bitter it can become.
  • Once brewing is complete, remove the filter, dump grounds (into your compost), dilute up to 50% (as needed), pour over ice, add your favorite coffee additions and enjoy!
  • Cold brew coffee is best if drank with the first 3 days. After a week, it loses flavor.
